WILV Chicago, Rewind radio

As reported on Radio-Info, WILV, Chicago, rebranded itself as Rewind radio. It didn't change its music, which was already centered on the 80s, with some 70s and 90s, too.
The station is similar to one of Bonneville's co-owned stations in Cincinnati, Rewind 94.9
Check out the playlists on yes.com. I wish more stations would focus on this era of classic hits: most of the music from the 80s, a bit from the late 70s and early 90s, and include all pop, not just rock like the Point stations play.
Any opinions on the Rewind stations?

That sounds awful! Back in the 80's I hated hearing rock and pop mixed together. Sometimes I'd tune in a pop oriented station if that was the mood I was in, sometimes I'd tune in a rock station if that's the mood I was in. Putting them together is about as appealing as a hot fudge & pickle sundae with hot sauce and garlic.

Former Classic Rocker KCOP in Ventura County CA (formerly, "The Octopus") just switched to "Rewind". I can not pick it up where I live in LA but I heard briefly when I was in Ventura County this morning. It sounds mostly 80's, mostly pop, not much r&b and not much "real" rock, as I would define it. I did hear a couple of "whoa, I haven't heard that song in a while" stuff. It is similar to a "Jack" format but less rock-oriented. I do not yet know if I like it. I used to like Jack (in LA) at first but then grew tired of it so the same may be true of "Rewind".
