I read on dctrv that Joe Sanchez is out at WWRT/WWRE Rock 104.9/105.5. From what the mailbager said it was due to budgets or something but 104.9/105.5's ratings took a nosedive after getting away from total classic rock to just, well rock. Even WINC-AM 1400 did better than them I saw. If the rock doesn't pan out, what do you think will happen to 104.9/105.5?
WINC-FM: Overnighter Mike Evans is doing afternoons at 104.9/105.5, since I am away from Winchester, who is doing the overnight now at WINC-FM? Live or did WINC-FM finally switched to voice tracking or just music late at night?
Q102, 98.3 KISS-FM and 99.3 The Fox: Now that Clear Channel announced a hiring freeze and still letting people go in their other markets, will the same thing happen with their Winchester stations? I never heard of any of their stations cutting back the same way the other Clear Channel stations in the other markets had done.
TV3 Winchester WHSV: expanding their newscasts to include an extra hour of local news at night plus they launched Good Morning Winchester. Are they expanding too quick?
WZRV 95.3 The River and WLTF Lite FM I don't see any changes.
WICL Cool 95.9: poor ratings continue for them. I know that WICL had problems within the past year or two.
How long will the oldies continue there?
The AM stations around the area, well I don't see them doing an changes.
Thoughts? What should the Winchester area stations be doing but arent? Dave Hughes from dctrv keeps saying that WINC-FM should become Northern Virginia's answer to New Jersey 101 ( talk during the week and music on the weekends ). Somehow I doubt that would happen though.
