Wind Chimes

Hoping I could get some help tracking down the wind chimes SFX that were used on Abrams' Supertstars AOR stations in the mid-late 70's. Like many Superstars stations of that era, we used them at QFM97 (WGRQ) Buffalo. The chimes were ditched when we became 97 Rock in 1980. (Please note that I was 18 at the time... Bwahhh-hahhh!)

A bit of background, the chimes were "glass type" and had a very unique, occasional "doppler effect," as if a car had driven by at a distance.

We're doing a Veteran DJ Day in November and those wind chimes would sound cool! I thought I'd saved the master, but... Your assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've got them on a reel to reel tape, which was part of WMJC jingles. The problem you'll have is separating the chimes from the tape his.

The package was from Jam Creative in Dallas. Perhaps Jon Wolfert can help you with a master copy.

Much obliged, Fred. It's a start. I'll keep my ear to the rail for other leads as well.

Just a thought. If you know how to play around on Usenet, someone in the alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.sound-effects group might have the effect in one of their libraries.

I've had to go to that 'well' to find something unique for post audio production that I didn't have.
