like sam said, if you want a software processor get sound solutions.
i highly recommend it and also DirEttore, although right now i'm still live with winamp and the cross/fading plugin... i'll have direttore running soon, maybe this week.
whichever automation program you are using, line out to your mixer. from mixer out go back in through the line-in input on the sound card. then winamp running with the line in plugin grabbing that audio. get a DSP stacker program (many available) and put sound solution and then your shoutcast or simplecast (sam) DSP in.
if you later decide to add a hardware processor, instead of mixer out back into line-in, route mixer out into processing, processing out into sound card line-in, and remove sound solutions from the dsp stacker.
sound solution is an awesome, and free, program. the only reason i don't use it is i want my headphones to hear the processed audio in real time.
