WINK News Radio 1200...where's 1460?

Over the last week I've seen spots for WINK News Radio which have mentioned 1200 only. What became of 1460 (WNPL)? Is it still on the air? If so, what is it broadcasting?

I noticed that too but 1460 is still there and simulcasting 1200 in Naples. Not sure if something is in the works for 1460 in the long run or not but they don't seem to be advertising it along with 1200 anymore.

1460 is Univision Radio now. They are diplexed with WNOG (1270) at the tower site east of 951 and north of Vanderbilt Beach Rd. The decision was made to separate the 1200-1460 simulcast and put Spanish on 1460. I'm not sure why, but there you are.

1200's signal is more NNE and not so much toward Colllier County. Look at Radio-Locator for coverage maps.

Great another Spanish station. When did this start? I know 1460 was still simulcasting 1200 as of the end of last week. I figured something must be up when they stopped advertising 1460 along with 1200. This might hurt them with the 1200 programing here in Collier. As Phil said 1200's power is aimed north and even with the 50,000 watts WINK AM reception is not excellent during the day and almost non existent at night when they reduce power.

Of course I was still hoping that they would do something different with WNOG/1270 instead of simulcasting Fox News 92.5. What's it been now, nearly 3 years since they started that? So much for that being temporary.

Maybe the all-news format will end up on 92.5, hey, you never know...

1460 is now all Spanish news. 1460 can be heard in Southern Collier County where 1200 has had trouble even with 50,000 watts.

Thanks for the update.

Is there a website?

There should be one fairly soon. Guess we have not reached the saturation point for Spanish radio...
