Last week old-guard peer-to-peer WinMX gave up the battle after reportedly receiving a cease-and-desist letter from the RIAA.

Man, I'm kinda surprised by that.

Yeah, last week it went down. However, if you were smart enough to download the open nap servers, then you can still connect that way. I'm on there every once in awhile and I share airchecks... although I'm not on as much right now since my laptop is in need of repair.

every time i try to connect to Win mx....it is saying it cannot find a connection...this has been going on since last week...well if it is gone....i''ll miss it.

Oh well...it was fun while it lasted. I shared many of airchecks on there before I got my new computer and could not get the open nap thing to work again.

RIP WinMX...Was almost as much fun as Napster.

The question I'm wondering about is... will the RIAA will go after YSI next???

They are bound and determined not to allow any exchange of recorded audio of any type to occur over the internet.

What do you guys think?

I wonder if Kazaa is going to be closed down next...
