I didn't get a chance to mention it earlier, but the CRTC last week renewed the station's license--and approved the owner's request to drop the "specialty format" requirements that forced the station to play older songs (and less "Popular Music"). The CRTC was swayed by the argument that the previous requirements harmed the station economically.
The planned new format is "Lite Adult Contemporary"--and I'm not sure whether the station has already made the change. While it's possible that the station will adopt the "Jewel" branding (considering that it's already listed on the splash/portal page for Evanov's "Jewel" stations, at http://www.jewelradio.com), it's currently still branded as "The Breeze".
The full public announcement is at http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2013/2013-550.htm.
