Winston-Salem radio billboards

Now that brings back memories! The Hawthorne curve on what was I-40 back in the day. Was a bad curve, lots of wrecks. Also remember the Flying Dutchman and another DJ girl named Ginger on WSEZ Z-93 early 1980s. In the other picture remember Bill Price on WGLD, easy listening and soft AC.

FCC history cards for WWNT (ex-WTOB), don't show that location for the transmitter; however, they did have a tower and transmitter at their studios in the Thruway shopping center. Also had a TV studio there - WTOB Channel 26 in the 1950's. That didn't last long.
