WINT back on the air?

I read on www.cflradio.net that WINT had returned to the air. I wonder why cumulus went through the process of fixing 1560 and it took almost a year to do so. What is the point in 1560? I honestly think they should have left it off the air unless they plan to put another format or sell it. They never had the best of signal in my oppinion plus it's a day timer anyway.
???

You took the words right out of my mouth. The station is a waste. Perhaps the signal will be a little better with the new copper, but if they cant go 24/7 why bother. I'm suprised cumulus put money into fixing it (or was it insurance money). Does anyone honestly think they're going to put any money into promoting it?

Sell it to Genesis. They'll just add another station to that network of news stations they're trying to create.

Stupid question but are they running espn? If it was me, I'd listen to espn on 95.9. Again, I'm very surprised they got copper for that station. 1560's signal is really only listenable in the melbourne/palm bay area. It starts to have trouble in cocoa at times if memory serves me correctly. I lived in cocoa beach a few years back and I had trouble getting 1560. It's funny but I can barely hear them here in Altamonte. ???

The FM station carries Magic b-ball, Gator football/basketball, Atlanta Braves .. the AM is ESPN full time with some brokered weekend stuff. Before the went silent last year the AM was running a different PM drive show (Robert Whurl? ... LA movie guy from that HBO sport comedy?). It's really a good situation on the coast, you can always get ESPN [as far north as the Beachline/Beeline].

Tuned in on Thursday afternoon in Cocoa when ESPN 95.9 was getting staticky, and AM-1560 WINT was coming in strong.

Tuned in again on Saturday around noon, once again in Cocoa, but 1560 was off the air.

Tuned in again this morning around 8:30am, this time in Melbourne, 1560 was still off the air.

I guess they're having issues.
