Observations:

1) WQDR with a solid book, country done right continues to win in Raleigh

2) The urban's should celebrate their 2nd to last quarter of these types of ratings. And before anyone disagrees take a look at the TSL for these two signals and you can bet that PPM will show that their audience doesn't listen all day as the voters, ahem...., excuse me, diary keepers would have us believe. Can't cheat the meters like the paper my brothers.

3) Stick a fork in WPTF. I know you lost Rush and Sean and any idea of what people under 65 want to listen to, but that is downright emberassing. Is WRDU the new standard for talk in the Triangle or is it just a fluke? Something tells me the torch has been passed.

4) What is wrong over at WBBB, anybody?

5) Gospel at #5! If you check the female numbers on this station they shoot further towards the top. Is arbitron even trying to find men anymore or are they just passing the time until the PPM rollout? Perhaps this may explain some of WBBB's troubles.

From the Rush Radio 106.1 Facebook page:
"THANK YOU! We just received our first round of ratings for RUSH RADIO 106-1 WRDU. We had a great debut. Thank you for making that possible!"

I'd be interested in finding out what the numbers are in morning drive.

Now for the money demos (the ones jobs hinge upon)

WOW! Has WPTF ever seen a 2.6? I knew 106.1 would make a dent in WPTF, but...that is...ummm...half of their audience. Any predictions on the history of WPTF? I really hate it for them. The difference between the two stations, which makes this rather sad, I was working yesterday when the shootings at the Duke Medical Clinic happenned, but I didn't hear anything on Rush Radio...I can't hear 680 inside at work, but I would guess there were at least a couple reports or something. Forgive me if I am wrong, my attention was not completely on the radio, as I am doing something else these days, but I didn't hear anything on 106.1 until this morning.

Arbitron strikes again. So WRAL and G105 beat 96ROCK, River, WPTF, Rush Radio and the fan in 25-54 men? Give me a break. I have heard meters are already active in the market so its quite probable they let the diaries fall where they may. But if I owned any of the male stations here I would raise some serious hell with Arbitron. All this will resort for spring...just in time for the diary to die its proper death. Then rankers will resort again.

as for me:
106.1 FM is sketchy in my town.
680 AM scorches big-time.
99.9 FM is a sometime-thing.
101.1 FM rocks.
iPod/Nano never fails.

There's something wrong if WQOK is no. 1 with 25-54 men. Even if there were that many black men, surely WFXC would be higher. And how do you explain WQDR not doing any better ... oh, right, country radio, a concept different from "country music", is designed for women these days.

Huh? WQDR #1 with total persons all week. #2 25-54.

Chimp, there's a new Classic Country in Raleigh at 570AM for you old codgers.
They'll be streamin' right into the Ponderosa by the end of the week.

I know. This is great news. I probably can't pick up that station but I have one during the day, and another in the car.

WQDR is no.1 with all persons, obviously, and #2 with 25-54 because some of them are WOMEN.
