Winter Book Ratings Predictions

You won't get a bottle of Sammy's Cabo Wabo Tequila if you guess #1 correctly. Now that was an easy 80 Million!

Looks like WKSL crushed WRAL while WQDR is still at the top of the heap of non-ethnic stations by a wide margin. WDCG and WBBB had good books too.

WRDU turns out to be as much of a non-factor as WCMC is. I guess that's what a million dollars worth of television gets you.

What happened to WRVA?

WRAL took the gun and tried to shoot itself in the foot, but they are so bad they missed and hit a testicle instead. KISS had little to do with it. If you would give credit to KISS then you must give credit to the River because together they squeezed RAL like a big fat oozing zit. Honestly, WRAL is the worst sounding station ever. Say what you want about Joe Wade, but letting it go for that long without a PD is unforgivable. KISS lost the Christmas wet one and what's left is a disappointment I'm sure. The winner is Radio One. CC has come close to tying Goodman's record of TV spent on Country with RDU, a 2.0 share has to be a suicide watch in the making. Desperation has a smell to it. Can you smell it?

Where do ya figure Raleigh's 96 Rock sits in the ratings?

I mean, in a market (and day-in-age) that sure loves its Country, CHR and Urban to cover the younger end, Country AGAIN winning the other half of the spectrum i would guess... can Classic Rock (that really rocks) play?

SURE I would love no more than to see this place with an angst outlet like a more mainstream, dare I say ACTIVE rock-- it just doesn't seem to be in the cards with urban serving the purpose and no Active Rock history that I'm aware of (given, new in town).

From what I can tell, the nameless River is giving all it's rock cred/perception over to 96 for lack of brand ID (song to song... really, guys. C'MON!!!), so if it's rock, it's 96. But is there much of it to even go around? The Foreigner leanings of 96 say no.

What say you, Wiser Ones?

I'm a long time lurker to the boards and thought I'd sign up to discuss radio issues.
I agree about Mix 101.5. That station has gone to the crapper. You can tell there is no energy at all with the DJ's, which most of them fall into the "antiquated" category, I'm not being mean, but all of them could pass for DJ's on any oldies station. ::) I think they should lean a little to the hot AC side, play more current hits, such as Maroon 5, All-American Rejects, etc. Playing a Marc Cone song from 1992 or a Billy Joel song from 1979 just ain't getting it done in this market. ???
