Winter Olympics TV Coverage

According to http://www.multichannel.com/article/444610-NBC_Universal_Loads_Up_On_Olympics.php :

NBC would have 193.5 hours of coverage

USA Network would have 41 hours

CNBC would have 101.5 hours

MSNBC would have 100 hours

Universal HD will show highlights and replays of various events

In addition, NBCOlympics.com will feature some 400 hours of live event competition, plus more than 1,000 hours of on-demand access

Here's the site where you can check the listings: http://www.nbcolympics.com/tv-listings/index.html

Most of the stuff should be live since the games are being played on this continent this time around and in one of the rare instances the Pacific time zone benefits. Now you Eastern time zoners will know what we put up as far as live sports go. :D

Yet I have a feeling that those in the west will still get the short end of stick, as the live coverage in the east will still be taped delayed in the west.

It happens every Olympics. I get 510 channels on my AT & T U-Verse, TV from all countries, and can't understand for the life of me why you can't get CBC or CTV to see some good Olympics coverage.

You can get CBC from CBET if you subscribe to U-Verse in the Detroit TV market; no CTV, though.

The northern Detroit suburbs should be able to get CTV over-the-air from the CKCO-TV-3 transmitter on Channel 42 from Sarnia. I believe CKCO is carried on cable in St. Clair County, can't speak for any other counties in SE Michigan though.

Buffalo gets CTV from CFTO Toronto on cable, if I recall correctly, and definitely over-the-air. Some parts of Upstate New York and Vermont would be able to receive CJOH (Channel 6 Deseronto) or CFCF (Channel 12 Montreal) over-the-air as well. I don't know what areas, if any, get a CTV affiliate on cable outside Buffalo in New York State or Vermont.

CFCF is carried on cable in Burlington, Vermont and points north. It might also be on in Plattsburgh; I'm not certain.

I don't know where, if at all, CJOH is still on cable in New York. Maybe up in Massena/Potsdam; it's certainly not on as far south as Watertown.

I believe it is -- both Comcast in Burlington and Charter in Plattsburgh carry CBMT and CFCF, as well as the French-language CBFT.

When I was in Massena in 2004 (on a road trip between Ann Arbor and Quebec City), CJOH was part of the Time Warner line-up in Massena (from its Cornwall transmitter), as well as CBOT; don't know if CBOFT or CBFT was part of the line-up.

Exactamente, if the first evening of coverage (Friday) is any indication.

Per zap2it.com, while it's live in New York 7:30 PM-midnight ET, it's on a
one-hour delay in Phoenix and Tucson (6:30-11 PM MT) and the usual
three-hour delay on the left coast (7:30 PM-midnight PT in El Lay).

Ho hum.

I'm not addressing whether or not the events covered are live,
but even the Saturday afternoon NBC coverage is live only in
ET/CT, per the listings on www.zap2it.com.

New York is listed as "live" 2-6 PM ET, while Phoenix and Tucson
are on 1-5 PM MT (one-hour delay), and El Lay is a three-hour
delay 2-6 PM PT.

In case you wondered, Saturday night's prime coverage 8-11:30 ET
is also delayed in MT/PT.
