Winter Storm Nemo

The Bruins Game last night was cancelled and the NHL should have early in the week moved the Game to Tampa Bay.
Again Sportscenter after 5 Overtime Game was again on West Coast and theirs usly not a West Coast Sportscenter on Saturday's and ESPN should have kept Jay M. and Don Bell in Studio and come back to do that one.
Duke/BC Game played today at Duke's Home Court.

^The Weather Channel started giving snow storms names in November 2012. Here is a link to an article about why they started giving snow storms names.

Did WFSB rename the storm "Charlotte"?

I see it referenced as the Blizzard Charlotte but only really on their site.

WFSB has had its own naming system for a while; certainly longer than TWC has been tilting at this particular windmill.

When NWS begins giving winter storms official names (which they won't), then I'll start using those names. Until then, it's worth noting that even TWC's corporate partner, NBC News, was branding its coverage only as "Winter Storm 2013," not with any silly fake name.

Guess TWC will try to start naming tornados next. I figured the naming was all done by TWC. That channel was so useful before "Storm Stories" and high speed Internet.
Is there any hope for NBC restoring TWC to its former glory?

I heard there's another winter storm approaching this week... So what'll this one be named, Oprah?

^It might be named "Orko", according to list posted with the article I mentioned earlier in this discussion.

I dunno. I like the name "Oprah" better. It's a better fit with the whole stupidity of naming winter storms.

The storm for Q will be simply named Q. Is this after the evil entity on Star Trek: The Next Generation? ::) :D

By now I should actually be over 3000 posts, regardless of which counter shows up!!! :D

This was the first I've heard of named winter storms—and they're up to N already?? Geez, I must lead a sheltered life... I completely missed A through M.

How about using these Winter storm names for the 2013-2014 season, including a few suggestions from this thread:

AFLAC
Bugs
Compaq
Dweezil
Elvis
Facebook
Groucho
Harpo
IBM
Jeep
K Mart
Listerine
MP3
Nothing
Oprah
Polaroid
Quasimodo
Regis
Sylvester
Tweety
U2
Velcro
WD-40
X Box
Yosemite Sam
Zeppo

It makes about as much sense as what they're using now!!!  ::) :D
