Winter trends out last week and "the brew" continues its slow but steady decline.Arm chair P.D. time. Its obvious they have run the course on the rock of 80s AOR thing.
Should they tweak and go full tilt classic rock ala KQRS? Take on the "hog" nose to nose ala WAPL?? Go to more of a "jack" format ala "the bay", The peak","nine fm"??? Or just maintain current format and hope for the best??
Also noticed that MYX taking lead over KTI in hot ac war.
p.s. in response to Jeremy's post below.... this "peak" "bay" format thing seems to be the current trend to snatch that much desired 25-54 demo.

WMYX beat WKTI 12+ but apparently WKTI still has a lead over WMYX 25-54. Not 100% sure about that. I noticed WMYX's playlist has been drasticly cut and repetative over the past week. They also added a bunch of 80s songs and some AC/Country Crossover (MercyMe, Faith Hill, LeAnn Rimes, etc) Sounds like they are trying to compete more with WKTI.

As for The Brew, my guess is they'll leave it alone until it reaches the low point. If they do ever have to flip it, I am going to guess they'd go with the Jack format under the name "Max FM" like they are doing in Grand Rapids.

I know that WKTI's target demo is female 25-54. Without access to the full book, I have no idea how they stack up in that demo. Is the WMYX target demo the same? Usually what's reported here doesn't break things down.

So what is everyone's speculation for the "failure" of The Brew? Was it their programming, their music, their jocks, or the Hog that caused the quick slip downward? It seems wierd to me how fast their audience erroded seemingly over to the Hog. I still listen to The Brew, however, I can see where they are bit stale in both their tight music rotation and jock offerings.
