WINV Beverly Hills

Hello,

I'm not within their broadcast area, but was wondering if WINV 1560 in Beverly Hills(formerly Inverness) is still on the air, and if so, what format they are now running.

Silent for a long time. They operate for one or two weeks per year to keep it from being deleted. Signal is dead at 4 to 5 miles from their transmitter. Citrus county sand and 1560 equals no propagation.....

btw It is blown out of the water (off the dial) during critcal hours by WAGL 50,000 watts in SC.

WINV 1560 at one time had a relatively decent signal. However, a few years ago the original tower fell and the replacement tower is much shorter than it should be for its frequency. Additionally, the tower is located in East Citrus County in Inverness, some 20-miles from the Gulf Coast and Crystal River. I also don't think the transmitting equioment has been very well maintained over the years which will contribute to the inferior signal... And, yes, 50kw co-channel WAGL Lancaster, S. C., walks all over the WINV signal during CH operation. When WINV is on the air, it usually rebroadcast classic rock sister FM station WXOF-FM 96.3.
