WIOD then and now

I've been listening to WIOD a lot lately with the storms coming and must say that it's really a shell of its former self. WIOD used to be a powerhouse station for information, now it seems to have morphed into a station where opinion is more important than fact, which is really sad. Who would have ever thought that WFTL would end up in a position to win in news? I wonder if Charles in Charge is clueless, or if his hands are tied by people higher up than he is. One thing is for sure, if they turn mornings into a Rush Limbaugh type program, it will be the final nail in the coffin for the once great Isle of Dreams. South Florida needs a reliable radio news source to listen to in the mornings when we're all stuck in traffic. Otherwise, there's no compelling reason not to just turn on XM or Sirius. Agree? Disagree?

Standby... accusation from other board members that Radio561 is a James Crystal Employee coming in 5-4-3-2... YOUR MIC IS LIVE!!

Any company that has the same set of call letters for all their stations, well, that pretty much tells you all you need to know.

WIOD is not the same as it was when Cox owned it and neither is WFTL (1400) when it was the "News Voice of Broward" .

Today's WFTL is a West Palm Beach station a loser for decades.

as you can tell by the name Jukebox..I am old
I did work at WIOD with Mike and Sandy
I worked the newsroom with Chuck and Gretchen, I later worked with Tom Lague.
That's when news stations were news stations.
There are none left here in S. Florida

I work for CC Miami but not IOD. It might not be what it once was and yes maybe a little short on staff but there are some very good news people working in that news room regardless.
