WIOD

I heard on the radio the other day that WIOD is going to go ALL Fox news and dump the syndicated shows...INCLUDING RUSH!!! If that's true my question would be...WHY? Seems to me they've got a great niche.

There is no such thing as "all Fox News." They will probably drop ABC Radio News and switch over to Fox News (like many Clear Channel stations are going to do.) That means any national breaking news updates will be Fox, not ABC. National sound they use in their newscasts will be from Fox correspondents, not ABC folks. It's a smart move, since most of their programming is conservative and most people believe that Fox is more conservative. A good move might be to keep ABC and put it on WINZ.

Was this one of Glenn Beck's puppy murder schemes?

WIOD & WMXJ

Yeah... I think Fox only has four talk radio programs: Hannity (now delayed 4 hours on WIOD), O'Reilly (heard on WFTL), Colmes (heard on WFTL), and Tony Snow (not heard here). It's be nice if they'd replace Schnitt with live Hannity.

Meanwhile, WMXJ, per Rick Shaw last hour, said they have a big announcement at 3:10. Think it's anything important or just a concert? They did so well this time I can't imagine a format switch.

WIOD is changing it's network affiliation to Fox News Radio - which, considering the programming, makes sense. WIOD is not changing its regular programming. ABC News Radio is moving from WIOD to WINZ, which considering how awful Air America's news is, it's a big improvement. Also, I am told that Paul Harvey will stay on WIOD. As will Hannity's program, which is an ABC show, not a Fox show. G'DAY!

Also of note: O'Reilly isn't a FOX show either, he's on Westwood One. FOX only has two shows: FOX News Live with Alan Colmes and The Tony Snow Show.<P ID="signature">______________
