WIP Late Night Updates: Live Or Memorex?

Heard a WIP sports update in the 5 AM hour. The woman who did the update sounded pre-recorded, plus I heard obvious "pickups" in the audio, i.e. you can tell when the voice inflection changed with the new story.

Yeah the "updates" are recorded after the midnight hour.
 
Even KYW is pre-recorded after midnight. Once the final news worthy game has been played, why do you need live updates?
