WIP To Simulcast Phillies Games On Sundays Only

Why not, it's better than... oh, I don't know, paying someone to do a show opposite a Phillies game?

I agree with this logic. Though, I think it applies 7 days a week, not just 1. From a CBS cluster counter-programming point of view, it makes much more sense to have the Phillies pre-empt Ike Reese all summer than it does to have them pre-empt Dom Giordano.

And it would be nice to put the day games on WIP and let Rush and Sean stay on WPHT. This is done in Boston. The Sox's flagship station is WRKO, a talk station. For weekday day games, they are put on WEEI. Boston's version of WIP.

Yet another way for your big radio conglomerates to save money.

That's smart business. As others have said why pay someone to be on during the game? Shocked they don't do it more frequently.

Either way, it's not gonna sound the same anymore... :'(
