'Wipeout': Cancelled by ABC, No Season Eight?

It’s looking like Wipeout is all washed up on ABC. The competition series hit some lows in the ratings last summer, was left off the schedule this summer, and now, it’s been removed from the network’s website.

On Wipeout, contestants try to make it through the “world’s largest obstacle course.” The person that makes it in the shortest time wins a cash prize. The program is hosted by John Anderson, John Henson, and Jill Wagner.

The show’s ratings have been coming down over the years and the seventh season was no exception. The 12 episodes, which finished airing in September 2014, registered just a 0.97 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.52 million viewers. That was down about 10% season-to-season.

It was funny as hell the first couple of seasons but then got very repetitive. The hosts made it fun to listen to but it wasn't "appointment TV".

At least one stupid reality game show is off the lineup. It was so stupid - people falling into water - hahahaha SO HILARIOUS!!! Not. Glad it was cancelled. Now maybe ABC can get a REAL drama or comedy in the Wipeout slot.

There was NOTHING "real" about Wipeout. It was strictly a game show.

Oh I don't know...when people slipped and fell face first in the mud, they were REALLY dirty.

It was proof to me that slapstick humor can still evoke laughter. Fall down, go boom.

As many of you know, Tom Bergeron hosts a similar show but for new episodes he is being replaced by Alfonso Ribeiro since he wanted to focus on his other show.
