WIQR Is Back On

...And their volume was very loud.

R.D.P. <><

P.S. Their former East Main Street location is still vacant.  Went by there earlier today and it was empty.  No cars, trucks, people and/or satellites were to be found.  I wonder if this station is still located in Prattville or have they moved their studio and offices to a new community altogether?  Inquiring minds want to know.

B.T.W. They're still doing the sports thing, from what I could hear on there.

WIQR has moved to the transmitter site in an old trailer. The old Main Street satellite dish is now next to the trailer. What does the call letter WIQR stand for?? Maybe it is "I Quit Radio"'

Not at all.  Back during their Top 40 days, they stood for  (W) Intelligent (Q) Radio.

And yes I've seen that old blue trailer, you speak of.  Last time I went by there, the place looked horrible.  Hope they got this facility repaired and remodeled.

P.S. And yes that facility housed their radio station, back in the late 90s, after they relocated the offices and studio to Prattville again and went the Classic Country route as KICK 1410 AM.

I remember hearing them play a mix of Classic Country and Gospel one Saturday about 3 or 5 years ago. Even back then, it was WAY too loud and overmodulated. Then, the last time I heard them (maybe 2009?) they were carrying sportstalk and were overmodulated.

I just don't see how someone can listen to that station with such poor sound quality.... and, this is coming from someone who is used to hearing bad sounding audio, who listened to WRJL in Eva and WAOQ in Luverne before they cleaned up their audio (and they were bad). And, I even listen through the high pitch background noise featured everyday on WQSI 95.9 The Eagle. :D
