WIQR Is Dark Again

Yep, that's what the people want. What an overreaction.

If they stink at what they do and no longer provide a community service or unique format, then howintheheck is that a "choice"? It's a blight. I mean, c'mon — they can't even seem to keep it on the air and in technical compliance.

Montgomery deserves better.

Again, that speaks to bad ownership. Sell it. Lease it. Donate it. Trade it for a Pandora subscription, I don't care.

If we were talking about a big glorified daytimer (I'm looking at you, WACQ 1130) I could see it. WIQR is no such bird. A license deletion is silly, IMO.

I would rather see any station, no matter how small, in the hands of someone who cares about it than shut down. That much is true.

But I have to ask: what if no one wants it? Then what? Sure, there's always donating it to a college or religious institution but they often don't want marginal facilities any more than anyone else.
