Wired 96.5 Philly Is Supprtonig Ida Corr - 30 Spins This Week

Jibbity check it out y'all. WRDW Wired 96.5, a Beasley owned station (like Power 96) is giving over 30 spins this week to "Let Me Think About It. Now if you let me think about it for a minute, does that mean this station is giving Dance another go?

They've also got DJ Laz "Move Shake Drop" in their Top 10. The song samples Benni Benassi's "Satisfaction", and the remix features Pitbul and Flo-Rida. Power 106 L.A. is also on this motha:

Lastly, they've also been supporting a massive mash-up of some of the biggest hits of the past year - DJ Earworm's "United States of Pop"

Tell Lalumia that its time for him to think about it. xm The Heat has been playing Ida core since January and still going strong for them.
 
I doubt they are giving dance another go... but, at a time where rhythmic stations in general are getting beat up by CHR's in most markets... that generally means the music in the format is suffering. They are probably having to stretch a bit to make up for it.
 
Just to clarify, we're not saying Wired we'll be going Dance, but rather opening up its playlist to SOME Dance music.
 
Both Power 96.5 and Wired 96.5 have the same HD2 format. Miami has a well-known dance scene, and Philly has 2 dance stations in the suburbs.
 
I've been playing Ida Corr for months at THE BUNKHOUSE,my dah lings, 22 bucks for the import CD single...but that record is not going to reinvent dance at radio, sorry,it's merely mid 80s Sheila E, revisted, on steroids...great record, though
by the way, what is "Supprtonig"? some new wonder drug?
 
My typos have gotten really bad lately as I'm multitasking while I'm on Radio Info, LOL.
BTW, that's actually a pretty good description of the record lalumia.
 
Just an update- Ida Corr has 64 spins this week from Wired, making it the 11th ranked song. DJ Laz is number one this week, with 112 spins! Wired gave Madonna's 4 Minutes (a song I'm not really feeling) 62 spins.

I agree with CHRles that they won't go all Dance, but at least Wired 96.5 has broadened up a bit judging from that sampling.

The Music Director was the music director under Glenn Kalina at Q102. Thats one of the reasons they are playing freestyle.
 
What freestyle does Wired play? I wasnt aware of any??????
 
Clubber, I am pretty sure he was referring to the sold out freestyle show tomorrow, Saturday the 12th, hosted by Chio. However, each day at 12 noon they are playing 3 older songs, many of which have been dance. For example, today Coro - Can't Let You Go was played at 12:11. Rockell - In a Dream was played yesterday at 12:02. La bouche - Sweet Dreams was played Wednesday at noon.
 
Power 96 is now also playing "Let Me Think About It". The song is Top 30 there while continuing to be nearly Top 10 at Wired.

Fantastic news! I've been watching this one as well. It has been charting in the mid 40's positions on yes.com in previous weeks, however before today, reviewing the times that the song was played showed that it was exclusively during mixshows. Now, it's clear that it is being played outside of the mixshows. (although it was played back to back with Cascada earlier this afternoon in a dance mix show). They tested this song for a few weeks, and clearly the popularity of the song has made it a "safe" choice for regular airplay. Wonderful news for the dance community! I'm going to go request it right now!
