Wired Flying SOLO - Tisa is OUT!

That would be the second time that GM has canned him, no? Wasn't Tisa the PD prior to Jim McGuinn at Y100?

While I am at it...

Wouldn't this be a good time for Wired to flip to modern rock if YSP is going talk? Not to say that the PD is pivotal to a station's format, but this would be an opportunity, no?
Edited by Wexler on 10/21/05 01:16 AM.

I guess Big Mama was another nail in his coffin. or was it the really bad air staff.

The new morning show had no real effect on the latest book. I think this was something in the works for some time. The more I think about it, the more I lean to thinking that the Wired experiment is done as we know it, and 96.5 is headed for another flip. The time is right. Once YSP goes to talk 96.5 goes to modern rock. WMMR is going heavy male, there is a significant void for the 18-34 female that likes to rock.

Keep the big mama show and hire Bret Hamilton...

Oh, anyone happen to see a Cherry Hill Triplex commercial lately? I was flipping the channels and heard a familiar voice that was "live at the Triplex"...it wasn't Cutler, it was Maxwell!

I doubt Big Mama Show could handle a modern rock format. The crew is more hip hop oriented don't you think?

I guess you are right, but I would imagine that they have some sort of guaranteed deal for at least a year. That would cost a pretty penny to blow them out...that is if there was a flip...

You could tell that Wired sh*t the bed in the latest book, the banners and stickers are all over the place. So juvenile. I can't wait till some of those people find themselves interviewing in new places and when asked about why they stickered a certain location (like other radio station parking lots and vehicles) they answer with "I was just following orders".

Nothing like a little healthy rivalry between stations. However, if it was an out-of-format station, say, wired going after XTU or MGK, then we have a problem.

D'oh! Hit the button twice.
Edited by Wexler on 10/21/05 08:17 PM.

I don't think that they would sticker their sister station, but then again maybe they would?

And, that would be the FOURTH format for Beasley on that frequency in five years, right?

Perhaps Bulgarian Goat-Herding Nose-Flute music isn't as far away as first thought.

Next format, Jerry!

What does Beasley care about a contract? Didn't they blow Barsky out and then refuse to pay off his contract?

I knew Wired was in trouble when they fired Rocco. He was a real class act, no?
