Wired Morning Show: Big Mama

Dumb stunt + dumb scenario + bad acting + obnoxious laughing twat + Bubba The Love Sponge act - the intelligence + a fake white hip-hop "thing"=RADIO GOLD!

The person that actually thought this was a winning combination needs to be beat with a pool cue and pelted with dingleberries. Big Mama (Big Tyme) sucked in Tampa. He sucked in Minneapolis. And he's sure to suck in Philly.

"Well, it's his first week...Maybe he'll get better".

The only thing that would make him better is if tongue fell out and his hole of a sidekick got hit by a bus. His whole act is unbelievably horrid.
He embodies everything that is wrong and unsavory about radio.

And before you ask...yes, that's me and yes I am.

Beat it dope, Kidd Chris already beat you to this act.

Welcome to Philly!

> Is every jock that signs on gonna pull this?

Contrary to whatever Big Mama has told Chuck Tisa and/or Jerry Clifton...

...he NEVER beat Tyler at KDWB/Minneapolis. Never.

On top of being a rip-off artist, a hack and a melodramatic basketcase (Beasley is in for a BIG suprise...). Big Tyme is also a flat-out liar.

And I still hope his twat, gigglebox sidekicks get hit by buses.

Jerry Clifton has officially jumped the shark. Chuck Tisa has officially proven
his lack of programming intuition.

Q102 wins.

"Yes, I am, and yes that's me..."

Yawn. Again, "Big Mama" it's been done. Not so sure your new bosses would appreciate your sentiment, but then again that's you being wacky, right? Wow. If this is the innovation that you bring to the morning in the #6 market in the country I will be listening every morning!

You brought it up, so let's talk about Chuck Tisa and Jerry Clifton - they were the guys that decided to string along a stunt for however long Ben Maxwell had to be a "janitor". Maybe that's why the morning show was ranked #7 in demo - cause the audience got bored. That certainly wasn't Ben's fault, that's like a manager leaving a pitcher in too long and the other team just knocking the ball out of the park. The decision should have been made long ago to make the change, or at least let Ben move from "Rocco" to Ben and create a morning show team.

Let's talk about that audience comp you've got there Big Mama - it's garbage. It's like walking into a dollar store - yes, there's a lot of stuff, but you ain't gonna find anything of quality there, and buyers know it. I anticipate that you and your act really aren't going to change that, and based on your posts here it seems that you agree.

Next, how about when management changed there and all of a sudden we hear Kelly Clarkson. Way to stick to your guns boys! That station has no identity, and now they have you leading the ship, and based on your posts it seems like you are a real leader.

Unfortunately you and your station are set up for failure. As the ratings slip and they keep pouring good money after bad into that station the Beasley's are going to have to decide when to shut things off. It really is all on your shoulders now big boy, cause I am guessing that you and your team cost a pretty little penny - certainly more than one guy not making 6 figures, as he said. That's a gamble.

Add that into all the vehicles and bus wraps and all the other crap like cash give-aways and the NEW costs to promote your show, oh and maybe the legal costs involved with that law suit with 50 cent, and you get the idea that the Wired ship has a lot of holes in it and is starting to sink, and you are left holding the bucket.

Expensive station, with no revenue, and now NEW costs incurred = Big trouble Mama. This, my new friend is a last ditch effort for Wired and you are already feeling the pressure - telling your audience that you are the "under dog" on your first day and now your posts here are signs of insecurity. If you were serious about "winning" I would think you would be focused on your craft rather than having 350 posts on a message board, and starting a thread like this.

Now, I could be wrong about all of this, but you are the one baiting people to express their opinion, so you got a little of mine. I mean no hate here, just giving you "the real" as you hip hop people say...you are into the hip hop scene right Big Mama?

What year was Big Tyme in Tampa and at what Station?

heard him..but my friend is in Atlanta now.. (save me some long distance
charges :) thanks..if I know what year ..

I think these two giggleboxes are more apt to be hit by a driver with
a suspended license as they are getting off of a bus. Really they are
innocent bystanders with little or no radio experience.. Hope the girl gets
a bartending job as she was one..so she can support herself and Big Mama when he gets fired.. ( Did they meet in a gay bar as he was performing his drag show in St Paul, Minn..??)

ARE THEY STILL THERE?

Are you insane? You actually think I'm Big Mama using a fake name to "create buzz" for my $hitty show?? While I wouldnt put it past Big Mama (Little Talent) to attempt something like that, I honestly don't think he's a terribly bright fellow.

Plus, Big Bubba Rip Off doesnt have a self-deprecating bone in his body. Guys like him are incapabale of any form of introspection or self-anaylisis. Because of this fact he is also incapable of making any real, long lasting connection with the audience.

To people like him (and his short-sighted new employers)...Image is everything and talent is secondary. Programmer rhetoric like "live the lifestyle" has ruined the industry and allowed the Big Tools of the world to succeed. I don't know what sickens me more--Big Mama's embodiment of everything wrong with terrestrial radio or Beasley's (Chuck Tisa & Jerry Clifton's) incredibly poor judgement.

Okay, fine...You got me.

I'm Big Mama.

Busted.

Yeah...

UGH.

PS: Chuck...I can't believe you're letting that obnoxious KUNT, Special K on the air in market six. Have you lost your mind?? HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?????!!!!
And Jefferson and Lynn wonder why people won't buy time on WRDW?

Bad call, my man. Bad call...

(yes and yes, to answer your inevitable follow-up questions)

Wow. Why not just post the staff list and call everyone out. I am sure the GM and GSM are digging that, especially after they had to deal with "Ms. Jones" for two years. The only thing missing "Big Mama" is if you call them "the white folks in the back". Brilliant.

Good look for you. It's all about professionalism with you isn't it? Hell, what's next? Why not throw their kids names out there too? Let's talk about them, everything is fair game, right? I dare you.

For those trying to keep up - we have a guy that posts mainly on the Chicago and Indiana boards and then all of a sudden posts on the Philly board with the names of the PD, consultant, GM and GSM of a station that just happened to hire on a new morning show. Ironic, no?

>why do people on this board really care about his posts. the average listener does not read this board, so who cares if he posts on this. its not like he's going to gain any listeners by doing this. too many people make things bigger than what they really are. lets all get a life.
