Wired playlist is terrible

I should say that I am not in their demo. I am a white guy in his mid 30s. A girl at work has the station on all day and it seems like I hear the same songs over and over again. I checked their last 24 hour playlist and I was right. It seems like the same songs every hour or so.
The song by Adele is on all the time.

Is this done on purpose due to extremely low CUME or TSL?

I was in Philly yesterday morning, and that Adele song was on 3 different stations at the same time. Push that cume baby.

i looked at the playlist for the past 24 hours again and it is the same handful of songs. I do not want to offend anyone who listens but why would you want to hear the same songs over and over again?

It's a CHR. There should be a fair amount of repetition on a CHR. But you can overdo it.

Their cume is 1.1 million. The cume of Q-102, their direct competitor, is 1.2 million. Pretty close.

But their AQH share is 3.3, while Q-102's is 4.5. Big difference.

That's not more people listening to Q. It's the same number of people (roughly), listening longer and more often. Excessive repetition on Wired could be a big reason for that.

IMO the station stinks as does Q and all the other CHR, HOT AC stations in the market. Thank God for Sirius XM

It may improve soon. The PD just got hired at Radio 1 in Indy

Uh Leo Baldwin got fired about 8 months ago (or longer, don't remember). Kannon was promoted to PD and he just got slapped back into afternoon drive duties when they hired Dan Hunt from Providence.

Other than the lack of commercials, can you explain the difference between the local CHRs and SiriusXM's CHRs?

One big difference seems to be that Sirius XM jumps onto rock songs faster than most terrestrial CHRs, which are notoriously slow on adding rockers or won't add them at all. In fact, SXM seems to want to be the first on new songs, which any CHR should shoot for (or at least be perceived as being first). I don't know Hits One's rotations, but 20 on 20 pretty much states its purpose in its name and even though it's not the endless countdown that it was when XM first started, you aleady know that you're going to hear some if not most of the same songs in a few hours' time.

I listen to satellite for Opie and Anthony, baseball, college sports and mostly the country stations. They have some repetition but there are a few different versions of the channel like the "prime" station and nashville which is more of a newer sounding station.
Regular radio is bogged down by tight playlists, way too many commercials and awful morning shows.
