Wired's mornings

Half-way through my ride to work this morning, I remembered the Wired morning show mess so I tuned in to see if they were still making such a stupid mistake. Indeed, they were. I don't care how much of a buzz they think they're getting from this, people aren't listening to it for hours a time and people definitely are checking out other stations in the market! I just think it's a disaster.

Of course, we're radio geeks so we probably are listening for some stretch of time, trying to glean something from it. So far, all I got is this: I certainly hope the people I was hearing this morning won't have anything to do with whatever eventually ends up in mornings on 96.5!

Then I thought: Wouldn't it be funny if on Friday morning, a Ben Maxwell morning show debuted to replace Rocco's show? Then I realized that, with the morning show "situation" shaping up in Philly over the next few months, a Ben Maxwell morning show would not help Wired 96.5.

I am leaning toward one of two things happening here: The first thing is a big, big morning show coming to 96.5 to generate a buzz before things get really fun in January. The second thing is a big morning show coming to 96.5 to usher in a new format and generate a buzz before things get really fun in January.

Could be interesting!

What about ANOTHER option...

What if we were to have a magical unicorn slide to Earth on a giant rainbow who could broadcast live to ALL THE UNIVERSE via his penile-microphone??!

THAT would be interesting!

Don't worry, K. All the geeks on this board (myself included) will be tuned in to hear what's going on.

And of corse....

And I have to get home Friday afternoon, that sucks!

Wired is not really my format per say anyway, I'd much rather DX and receive Tropo from the Nortern banks of NC. Airchecks rule and WPEN is something I'd like to grab before they are gone. Though if I were home I'd see the morning show just to say that I have. Why? Because I'm a radio geek, too. Though beings I have not been home for a year, I wouldn't have anything to compare the two moerning shows and most people don't aircheck morning drive.

I hadn't ruled that out.

Just want to thank you Kannon for bringing in your Mr Microphone to the
Wired studio so the shows could go on..
But next time someone steals the main Microphone...tell your bosses to chip in for some acting classes for the on air staff for a more believable promotion. At least to kids who think there's still a Santa Clause..
