Remembering King

When WISC-Ch. 3 editorial director Neil Heinen read that WIBA-AM 1310's newsroom had sold its naming rights and would officially become the Amcore Bank News Center, the first thing he checked on was whether it was the same room that had been named after Bob King, his old boss at WIBA, who got Heinen started in the news biz.

King, who was with WIBA for 36 years until retiring two years prior to his 1995 death from cancer, was a legendary news director who mentored a lot of young reporters. ...
