So my friends, how do you think that WISG-FM, Susquehanna's
Christian AC stacks up against other Christian radio in the
market?

And why do you think that Susquehanna has this format here
and not in other markets?

Love 98 is now Disney and the Franklin station has changed to Oldies with some of the old Gold 104-5 staff, so the competition has thinned. The Christian message from the jocks is less overt than WFRN and their translators to the north. I'm not sure how it compares to Spirit 95 in Bloomington. You really can't compare WGNR, the Moody station has a lot of commentary shows, and doesn't rely on music as much. WQME at Anderson University plays a good selection of music, but the station is a learning station, so you can't compare with the vets at The Song. I don't really get the chance to hear the AMs much.

Maybe they saw a hole in the market that wasn't being served, or thought they could do it better than WIJY.

Cumulus will soon take over the ownership. It will be interesting to
see if they change the format... "a new song"...

WQME 98.7 in Anderson seems to do a pretty good job for northeast side of Indy
and towards Muncie and north. A better mix of music instead of the same 10 songs over and over. There's GNR...but they are always begging for money to pay for their new building..and all talk with very little music. Greenfield has a station that's Christian...but not sure any body is listening to it..and some interesting business practices going on there too.

When I lived in Anderson I listened to WQME all the time (just a shade above normal at 98.7... normal being 98.6 of course, took me forever to get that.) I like the idea of The Song, just not the execution. In a perfect world, it would either have more youth programming (i.e. more pop and rock than AC in evenings and a weekend show or two as well) or go edgier on it's HD station. Otherwise, it's the same 10 songs over and over again, go it gets boring.
