Don Abbott was Commander Don on the Saturday morning show for
kids....I ran camera on that show.
The WISH ownership line seems like it went from the McConnells to
Corinthian then to Dun and Bradstreet and finally to LIN. I could have
missed something there.
My mom babysat the McConnell kids way back when.
Following Don's kids show I believe Joe Leamon took over and created
Uncle Buster (or created actually by Dave Smith). It was supposed to
be a general store scenario I think. I ran camera on that show too.
The WIFE Good Guys did have a studio at 1440 Meridian with the
"window on the world". One could walk past the window and see
the DJ. I think Emmis might have something close to that on the
Circle with its studios.
During the bleak days of the JFK assassination there seemed to be a number
of radio and tv stations carrying network coverage that was not the norm
for them. I suppose some managers of the major stations were compassionate enough to allow that for the coverage of the death and
funeral.
