WISH-TV: Fire at WFYI studio

The story suffered from misinformation. I am unsure who is at fault, so I will not try laying blame.

The real fire was at a building just north of the former WFYI studios. The fire was in the 1400 block of N. Meridian, just north of the former WFYI studios.

Indeed, the story has now been yanked from wishtv.com.

I wonder why Ch 8 removed the story, Good thing you posted this info early on...THANKS.... That suks about the fire, I sure hope no one was injured. :eek:

No one was injured. This started out big but turned out to be a lot of nothing. Some kind of electrical panel burnt out. After sending half the city (so it sounded like), all IFD left there to work on it was like, 3 trucks.

WYFI TV was off the air last I checked (this AM). WFYI FM was not affected as far as I can tell. Strange.

from their website;

WFYI is doing repairs and upgrades to our transmission facility. Over the next few days you may experience interruptions in our cable and analog television broadcast service. Those watching WFYI’s digital stations should not be affected. We apologize for the inconvenience.
