According to reports: WIST & K285FF have been sold to Catholic Community Radio Inc.

I dont like that! That means sports gone and another religious station on the AM dial.

...and all hope of WTIX the mighty 690 ever coming alive again.. I figured Mikey would have tried for it

Seller probably realized a tax advantage ,cash or donation,by selling to a non profit. That's business.Several of us former Tix jocks would have gone for a deal, but that's broadcasting for you.Wonder if the 1st song played will be Sister Mary Elephant".

New Orleans — Catholic Community Radio is adding a second New Orleans-area station with a $200,000 deal to buy sports WIST (690) from George Buck’s GHB Broadcasting. The deal includes the Metairie-licensed translator K285FF (104.9). Catholic Community Radio already owns religious teaching WPYR (1380) in the adjacent Baton Rouge market. Buck — via his majority interest in Fleur de Lis Broadcasting — still owns oldies “Tix FM” WTIX-FM (94.3) in the New Orleans market.
