WISX: Please shut ***** Voice up already!

I decided to listen to the WISX stream today. I tune in & out sometimes in the car (if I make it that far up the dial without finding anything good) but never have any sort of extended sit-down with them. It's been a couple hours now and I am completely fed up with Bitch Voice. You know, the one that keeps saying the same stupid things over and over in the hopes that listeners won't be jarred by the awkward segues. Bitch Voice has got to be killing TSL. She's more annoying than the way they've played "So Many Men, So Little Time" twice a day for the past two years.

A few minutes ago, Bitch Voice said "Here's another one that'll make your blood run to unspeakable places!" That is...just...so...stupid. I feel bad for the woman behind Bitch Voice. The unconvincing excitement with which she has to read these things makes me feel a little embarrassed for her. I think they need to pay her a bit more. LOL.

Anyway, why is WISX going through the trouble of voicetracking jocks and coming up with inane things for Bitch Voice to say? Just make it a jukebox outside of the morning show. Who cares?

"Hey, this is GREAT to listen to while I'm driving the kids in the minivan to soccer practice and ballet lessons and all the other stereotypical things that suburban kids do!"

Yeah, we get it, Bitch Voice. You are woman. We hear you roar. We get it.

I usually make it a point to check the station out when I'm in the area, but I feel very very ******y when those little.......... things......... (let's call them "blatant target demo specifiers") come on the radio, and I'm afraid the volume might be up too loud.

"If you ever get that not-so-fresh feeling coming from your radio..."

Yo dudes, It’s just a CC script read for 10 or so stations for gods sake. Don’t take it so damn personal. Just find a better medium to listen to.

Speaking for myself, I'm a radio geek (er, "broadcasting enthusiast"). I don't turn on the radio "just looking for a good song to listen to"... I listen for the stuff in between. I want to hear killer imaging, jingles, super-tight segues, and thick, heavy audio processing. Once they make an iPod with dual audio cards and a built-in Optimod 8500, I'm outta here :)

im a person who uses radio for music. which is why i despise clear channel. as long as none of my stations are changin formats, im good. an occasional tropo catch is nice, but thats as far as i go.
