Since there's some speculation on this board that the current
period of format flipping will continue, I wanted to tap the infinite wisdom of everyone on here to see if you thought, when all of the dust settled, that Houston might end up with a real Texas Music station, like KHYI in Dallas.
If so, where.

It would be great if we did, but with the lack of frequencies that are English-language and Texas Music being a niche format, I don't think the chances are very good of Houston getting such a station. The Houston area is missing out on many different formats and unless there is a miracle and an almost total realignment of Houston stations, Houston is maxed out on signals. It would take an act of God for that to happen because it would affect stations for hundreds of miles.

With the problems of the rimshot signals that are not going to change, Houston is not going to be better off with more "move in" stations. The Table of Separation for FM Stations is not likely to change in our lifetime per CW and he certainly has the experience and knowledge to know.

I listen to Texas Music on the web from KFAN 107.9 Johnson City - KEEP 103.1 Bandera. They play some great music, their website is www.texasrebelradio.com and you can click on "to listen".

It would take something like LBI {Liberman} to sell all his metro Houston stations, which on FM are all rimshot stations to Houston. With LBI investing millions in new towers for their stations I hardly see LBI selling any properties.
