Who is left in local talk? (not including the sports stations)

Cefalo is not a talk show host. He just hosts the morning news. So he doesnt count. I guess Kaufman is it. WIOD has none at this point.

Calling Joyce Kaufman a talk radio host is like calling a Yugo a quality car....NOT & NOT!!! Joyce Kaufman is a blithering, bumbling idiot and the only microphone she should be behind is the at the supermarket where she can yell "Need a mop in aisle 9". But that's the James Crystal mantra....hire no-talents for no money which equals no ratings (even with three stations calling themselves WFTL).....you get what you pay for!

1) the station makes money on her and
2) she's the ONLY non-sports local TALK SHOW host in the market now that Neal's gone,

Dislike her on the air, but she's got staying power. She's been on the air somewhere, consistently since the old WFTL 1400 days. She was even part of "SuperTalk."

I agree with you about disliking her on the air. But keep in mind that as long as Steve Lapa can keep a station on the air on the cheap, Joyce Kaufman will have job security. No ratings (on any of James Crystal's stations for that matter). But don't confuse staying power with her desparate need to be on the air even if it is for next to nothing. Three WFTL's and not a winner amongst them. I wonder how long it is before Steve Lapa (who is the ulimate jock-sniffer) turns 850 into the third WFTL sports station under the same roof. That will drive Lapa to drink (if he isn't already after seeing his stations tank....what a waste of some great signals) and under the same roof with Kaufman in a different venue....at Joyce's regular AA meetings.
