All,
Just got caught up with the news about JSJ going away -- hugely upsetting! I had only recently discovered it, but I can definitely hear the difference. You're right: JSJ has been the superior version of the format.
Looking at JSJ's playlist, it appears that the closest surviving Smooth Jazz station, at least for now, is www.Wave947.fm from Hamilton/Toronto Canada. It's owned, operated, and programmed by Doug & Mary Kirk (not BA!!), making it one of the last 'mom & pop' SJ stations anywhere. You're also guaranteed to hear some 'new' music, since they feature some outstanding Canadian artists like Brian Hughes, Jesse Cook, Carol Welsman, and more. They also play Swing Out Sister, Michael Franks, Incognito, and others not typically heard on BA stations. Have a listen, I think you'll really enjoy www.Wave947.fm
Would love to hear your thoughts, so please post them...
Stay smooth,
Media Maven
