WITT 91.9

Is this station on? They were granted a license June 8 & I believe that requires actually being on air.

The license to cover application doesn't require the station to be on the air, just ready to air.
Their license is only canceled if they fail to return to the air within one year of silence.

If a station has been off for more than 10 days they should file a notice with the FCC saying why. They have done that and you can see their silent request here:
http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws...7486&Service=FM&Form_id=910&Facility_id=91740

"AS THE FCC RECORDS WILL INDICATE, WITT-FM COMMENCED OPERATIONS ON JUNE 2, 2009 AND SIMULTANEOUSLY FILED ITS FCC LICENSE APPLICATION ON THAT DAY. THE FCC LICENSE WAS GRANTED ON JUNE 8, 2009. HOWEVER, FROM THE OUTSET, THERE HAVE BEEN STUDIO-TRANSMITTER LINK PROBLEMS AND KIDS FIRST, INC. IS CONTINUING TO WORK WITH THE PHONE COMPANY TO RESOLVE THE DSL LINK SYSTEM PROBLEMS. WITT-FM IS NOW OFF-AIR, AND IT MAY BE SEVERAL WEEKS BEFORE THE PHONE COMPANY DSL STUDIO-TRANSMITTER LINK ISSUES ARE RESOLVED TO WITT'S SATISFACTION."

Date Station has gone / will go silent: 06/11/2009

Their website says they still need hundreds of thousands of dollars to commence operations, hmmm.

You wouldn't have "DSL STUDIO-TRANSMITTER LINK ISSUES" if you would just build your studios closer to your tower and your COL, Zionsville.

Why not run from the transmitter site until you can get a working STL?

Curious...how did you find that link? The FCC website hasn't been the easiest thing for me to navigate :( .

a few technical glitches popped up...all is currently being attended to...in a week or
two WITT should be up and running...the STL switchover is the most significant
re-do...and it is being taken care of, however, that takes a few days or so.

RDO refers to the fact that WITT's studio isn't in Zionsville, it's COL. Can someone educate me please, where the studios are??? :p

Radio Locator says they're here: 6218 KINGSLEY DRIVE, Indianapolis, IN 46220

Checking the FAQ on the WITT website, you will find the following:

9. Where is WITT located?

WITT’s transmitter is located in Zionsville, though the radio station will cover Indianapolis and a good portion of central Indiana.

WITT is still looking for studio space, preferably in the near north side of Indianapolis. If you have any leads to donated/affordable space, please contact Jim Walsh.

5. I am a musician and would like you to play some of my stuff. Can I send you some music?

Thank you for your interest in having your music aired on 91.9 WITT FM! Please send us your CD with a bio and description of the genre(s) that your music is a part of.

Please send these items to:
