WIVK and the Sunday Survey

Back during the seventies and eighties, WIVK used to air a countdown show on Sunday afterrnoons titled "The Sunday Survey". It was a local show that counted down the Top 40 Country songs in Knoxville for the week and Dan Bell was the host until the late eighties or so, with, IIRC, Ed Rupp taking over the duties after Dan Bell's departure from the station. Why did Dan Bell leave WIVK and how much longer did the Sunday Survey run on WIVK after that?

Dan was still working part time/weekends at IVK up until two or three years ago. And for awhile he was board-opping the UT games. He has a full time career outside of radio.

Seems anymore you need a full time job outside of radio even if you have a full time career in radio just to make ends meet. :(

Seems like the reins of the "Sunday Survey" ended up in the hands of Colleen before they started running syndicated countdowns. Remember the background music Dan Bell used on the original show, you could hear the
cart splice pass every time.
