WIVK's Andy and Allison "retiring"

With Colleen's departure, that daypart is now in 3rd place. Syndicated John Boy has been winning off and on in AM Drive for awhile. Soon there will be only one show remaining that Bobby Denton had a hand in. And it's not doing so well either.

The last numbers that came out in May had WIVK below 10.0 I don't ever remember seeing them that low. Loosing all the long time employees doesn't help the ratings drop either only helps that they don't have to pay out as much salary.

Add another to the list. Long time Chief Engineer Tim Berry is leaving to return to WUOT. He will still engineer Vols games though.
Yeah, but who will carry them in Knoxville? From what I've heard, Cumulus is in deep financial trouble. Stock is currently trading for 50 cents a share, a year ago, it was selling for around $65.00 per share.

Huh? You might want to check your dates. All time high for this stock was:

High 63.84 on Jan 3, 2014

But it quickly dropped to $6. A year ago it was about where it is now.

The issue with Cumulus is that they have too much debt. They have profitable radio stations, but they do not make enough to pay the debt.

I'm not sure I see WIVK moving in a brand new morning show. I can see them moving Gunnar into mornings with a partner or something like that. Otherwise I think it's going to be America's Morning Show.

It's Tony & Kris, a longtime California morning show that has been syndicated the last few years. It sounds like they will be moving to Knoxville to work at WIVK but will also keep their syndicated show.

I was surprised they didn't just plug in the Nash morning show, with headcount at the Cumulus cluster semingly dropping by the day.

Caught the last hour of the morning show today. They weren't on. It was the producer having some kind of on air discussion with the sports talk lady about how she likes free stuff. Not very riveting.
