Wixc 1060

Hello. Anyone know what is on 1060 AM? I have tried to DX in from here in Altamonte and have not heard anything. Also a little OT here but what what is on 1300 now? I may be in the Palm Bay area this weekend. I have not been there since May 2015 so it will be interesting to see what channels I can get over there on my new sangean pocket radio.

WIXC had issues with the 3DX50 main transmitter, and was running on the backup DX-15. The 3DX is now back up and you should be able to get it in Altamonte daytime. When 1060 WMEL went away, they were simulcasting WWBA at first, until their own programming could be put in place.

I've noticed WIXC has been off the air almost consistently since hurricane Irma. I did catch them on air the morning of Saturday 9/16, they were running a 1-week old episode of the Southern Pig Skin report (a college football commentary show ... this edition was a "pre-storm" show). Amazed that Cumulus or Clear Channel wouldn't buy it on the cheap to be a repeater of News or Sports.

wixc would be a giant money pit Clear channel more then covers the market on 1350 and 1240.. they at least cover what counts with alot lower maintence and electricity bills on 1240/1350 then 1060.. and 1060 is so highly directional at night, 1240/1350 would cover better then 1060 at night.. i could hear 1240 at night on a car radio in cocoa near the merrit island bridge when i worked in cocoa in 2005.. i dont recal lever hearing 1060 that well

1060 has always had a garbage night time signal. You can barely hear them in Palm Bay at night. Heck they even had trouble in cocoa beach when I lived there in 01 at night. LOL

I remember years ago when 1060 was WRMF and still own by Richard M. Fairbanks they made some improvements giving the station a killer signal in Fort Lauderdale at night. Times change, Radio-Locator lists them as being off the air.

HMMMMM. I heard them here today (Tuesday the 7th) on my CC EP here in Altamonte.
