Hi

As you can see by my forum name, I am 74WIXYgrad. I call myself that because I went to the WIXY School of Broadcast technique in 1974. The school was in Cleveland, Ohio in the same building that housed legendary top 40 station WIXY/1260. I picked the name because few people admit to having gone to the school, and it has become "brand name recognition" for me. I also started a blog called "WIXY's Gone Bananas" which was a promotion of 1260 in 1973.

Anyway my latest post is about the current WIXY/100.3 in Champaign.

Hey WIXY,

Glad to know that other Ohioians migrate to this board. Get this I grew up in Cleveland listening to 1260 as a kid. About 20 years ago I was GM at 1060 WMCL in Mcleansboro Illinois, when I arrived Steve Holestein was the PM drive jock at WMCL. I sharred the history of the calls with him a number of years ago. It is odd to know that these rockin calls are now associated with Country Music.

.. and If Steve reads this board..don't forget "Always drink upstream from the heard" ;D

Well Tref,

I've been listening to on demand bits from Holstein and Company, and am impressed with the clean humor of the show, I've also watched the "will it blend" clips. I hope Holstein reads this board too. I sent both he and Melissa emails with the link to my blog. And I at least want a WIXY/100.3 t-shirt.
