Not bad. It seems to include some uptempo '50s rock n' roll ("Breathless" Jerry Lee Lewis), doo-wop and some lost cuts from the '50s and '60s (Not even KIXI plays Robert Goulet anymore.) In an age when many standards stations follow rigid music formulas, this one has a bit of an edge musically. And that's not necessarily a bad thing either.
My God...what is this I'm hearing....VINYL ticks and pops under this Connie Francis tune?...INSTANT bonus points!.....
The station still has automated instrumental buffer music between AP news at the top and bottom of the hour, a rare throwback. However, the lack of station announcements before a spot break was a bit jarring. But listening further, I realized that might have it's advantages. As long as they're very short and followed by a jingle, they're actually tolerable enough for me not to change buttons. Generic announcements before a spot break is usually a listener's cue to tune out anyway.
This is pretty much a weekend listen and almost every station is on autopilot on the weekends. I'll have to check them out later in the week......
