wjar 10

i live in southern mass and my Comcast gets only on ri station and that's wjar ch 10, now Ive noticed lately that they have no local reporters just the anchors and they get there stories from around new England, or nationwide. is it a slow news period, or did they lay ppl off?? i would like to know since i get my news from there cause i live, closer to providence!! thanks

I think that it might just be temporary, wjar is redoing the studio and updateing to hd newscasts. They still have 6 reporters, and 8 anchors

did they lay ppl off??
They lost quality personnel. But they've made some hires in the last year.

Had a chance to see the new studio (briefly). It looked a little heavy on the dark blue?
Anything would have been an improvement but this wasn't particularly impressive. I'll get another look soon.

i don't think the new set is all that great but, where i am wjar is only available in sd for some reason they don't carry the hd channel!! but from what ive seen its not all that impressive!

The home of Dean (ex-Jr.) College! ;D

In that case, Franklin, MA, is in Norfolk County, so you are placed in the Boston market, regardless of your proximity to Rhode Island, which means that the Boston channels have priority on your cable system. In that case, you'll have WHDH for NBC HD programming.

I don't believe WJAR is a significantly viewed station in Norfolk County...have you checked to see if WJAR is blacked out during primetime NBC programming? Or has WHDH decided to not enforce their network non-duplication rights?

no wjar is on all the time never blacked out i watch them more then the boston stations cause i goto Rhode island alot being i live 5mins away!!

WJAR is significantly viewed in Norfolk, Mass. county.

This is what I dug up from the FCC's site:

Norfolk
WBZ-TV, 4, Boston, MA
WCVB-TV, 5, Boston, MA (formerly WHDH)
WHDH-TV, 7, Boston, MA (formerly WNAC)
WSBK-TV, 38, Boston, MA
WLVI-TV, 56, Boston, MA (formerly WKBG)
+WBPX, 68, Boston, MA (formerly WQTV)
