WJAR 100% Digital psa

Last night 4/19 WJAR ran an announcement stating that they were 100% digital now. That I knew. Then they said something about fridge areas afterJune 16 th should be able to get the station better. What are talking about?I thought all Providence stations were at 100% power as of 2/17.HAve they been running at partial power since than and now after the rest of the country goes digital after June they will up the power.Anyone know what they are talking about?

It may have to do with antenna placement. I have heard of some stations that had their digital transmitter side-mounted on the tower (as opposed to the top of the tower). So that could affect some areas.

I think they are talking about the construction permit they have to increase power and height on their digital transmitter - that is moving their digital transmitter to the top of their tower. And I would suspect that seeing they share the same antenna that WLNE is moving with them to the top, too.

Maybe Boston stations will do the same thing. For those people having trouble getting Boston stations now, perhaps they will get them in June.

At this point, I think the only Boston station that will be changing anything in June is WHDH, with their DT moving from 42 to 7.
