WJAR: the Leno factor

A personnel weakened Ch.10 news has given up the 11pm lead which they have held --with few exceptions--for a generation. The preceding Leno 10-11 hour, is thought to be a major factor as well.
Nielsen overnight ratings for the week of Oct. 19-23. At 11 p.m., Channel 12 had a 6.8 rating and a 13.9-percent share, compared with a 6.5 rating and a 13.2-percent share for Channel 10 and a 1.9 rating and a 3.9-percent share for Channel 6.

At 6 p.m., Channel 10 led with an 8.4 rating and a 17.1 share, followed by Channel 12 with a 6.5 rating and a 13.3 share, and Channel 6 with a 1.7 rating and a 3.4 share. In the early morning, from 5 to 7 a.m., Channel 10 had a 6 rating, 26.3 share, followed by Channel 12 with a 2.1 rating and a 9 share and Channel 6 with a 0.9 rating, 3.8 share.
WJAR maintained its #1 position at 6, and dominated with a stunning 26.3 share at 6am.

Interesting...I wonder if they will lose those ratings in the morning once Frank Coletta retires (how old is he now?). I don't know how many people watch for Kelly Bates...

I switched over to WPRI once they laid off Gary Ley, and I was shocked at how much better the quality was.

Frank is not old enough to retire. He was a few years behind me in college.
