WJAR to air paid obituaries

I heard that Meridith has a similar show in the works for WFSB, but airing in the early mornings. They're already running it at some of their other stations.

You pay for death notices in papers (as opposed to obits which are free) so why not on TV. Does seem a bit out of place, though I don't know why

And The Old Gringo continues to proclaim that the media does not program to the over-50 crowd! ;D

Landtuna, it's the so-called "lifestyle" shows full of paid segments by denture specialists, retirement savings experts, etc.! :D :D

It's pathetic on both counts: the station and the ego-types that want this service. WJAR's dominant morning numbers come in part because they solicit birthdays (cornball), so they are going to the opposite extreme.

Hopefully, their screening process is more stringent that KTVO in Kirksville, MO... (For more information, do a search on YouTube. ;D )

Ugh! You tease! Of course I had to search it... and...

(had to watch it twice - laughing too hard)

And to those who search for it on YouTube, need I remind you: NSFW. :D
