WJAR's Alison Bologna

From Medialine: ALISON BOLOGNA moves from reporter at WJAR-TV in Providence to reporter at WFXT-TV in Boston.

My comment: Alison left Channel 10 a couple of weeks ago. I don't know if she's been on the air at Fox 25 yet. I haven't seen her on. I'm also surprised that the loyal Channel 10 viewers haven't been on here, complaining why they haven't seen Alison on lately.

OK, I'll complain. I was as big a fan as she could have had when she was in Providence, but people change jobs, what can you do? But that being said, sure, I'd like to have seen her stick around down here a couple of more years, at least. As to why WJAR let her get away, I can't even begin to fathom. I guess the new ownership wants to cut costs, but there sure is/was plenty of deadweight they could have chopped off before her. Not that it seemed the station ever even did much for her. She received next to no promotion I ever saw, and having her fill in as anchor and do endless banal nightly spot reports was a waste of time and talent that would have been far better put into investigative work. I hope they at least realise that when she walked out the door, the future of that news operation essentially went with her. Seriously, she admittedly may not have been the bubbly morning anchor type, but the kid had an impeccable journalistic education; many achievements even though young and with a long career yet ahead; attractive looking; always poised and in command on screen; handled tragic stories with laudable sensitivity; had a great work ethic; she exuded professionalism in every area -what more do they possibly expect to find? I guess they must think the old guard is going to be there forever...if they are thinking, that is. Best of luck to her, at any rate.
