WJAY, WHLO, WAIU and WTVN

This is a broadcast history question -- but since it does concern Northeast Ohio, this seems to be the appropriate venue.Back in the 20's, Cleveland daytimer WJAY at 610 existed. Through some chain of events, that station (or at least its frequency) was involved with the evolution of what is now WHLO/Akron and WTVN/Columbus. Any old Akronite :) or others who can summarize the timeline of WJAY and the other stations?

Yes at one point 610 was in Akron, and 640 was in Columbus. I believe it was in the 40's or 50's each station realized they could do better with the other frequency, so they swapped to get what we have today.
