WJBO

Why the hell is WJBO only on AM Sunday? Someone please tell me why they continue to broadcast only on a station that barely gets out of Baton Rouge? I live in Livingston Parish. We are under orders to evacuate. I turn on WJBO and I get static. Signal is useless in the afternoon! WFMF is still VT'd garbage as is WYNK and 96.1? Clear Channel is useless! I guess they had to make sure they had their weekend off  ::) WJBO their is a hurricane out that affects more than your 4 mile radius on 1150. Get on FM.Forget the payola---I mean commercails on 102.5....

Hello all! Just a heads up, I'm safe staying with relatives & family in Plaquemine, LA (near Baton Rouge). BTW, I have to make sure I put that up here because you won't believe what people say to me when they ask me where I've evacuated to and I say "I'm in Plaquemine, Louisiana." ::) Honestly, people think I went to Belle Chasse or Port Sulphur or something!! :D No, not Plaquemines Parish! Goobers.... lol

Smashed, if you want to keep up with what's going on in New Orleans from where you are (and what might be the most accurate), go to Mix 92.3. All Citadel stations are broadcasting WDSU NewsChannel 6. I know it seems like an easy way out for programming, but it is smart. Not everyone has a portable TV and 87.7 only works about 35/40 miles outside of town. Personally, I think it's a smart move on both their parts! Can't always get AM stations in hotels/motels and on cheap radios.

Honestly, I was hoping they'd utilize the 92.3 & 104.1 frequencies for Gustav coverage. With that Vacherie stick, they've got great FM coverage and it's an alternative from listening to AM for hours at a time. I sometimes find AM creates listener fatigue after a few hours.

Anyways, enough of my babbling. Good luck to you all, your family, and friends! Pray for us all and hope for the best!

That and as of February 17,2009, the 87.7 option won't work (as analog TV 6 audio will be digitalized and up on channel 43) That's why WDSU stopped recently with the promoting of the 87.7 audio option.

I think a storm like this will prove that you will need at least one station in coastal communities have the ability to broadcast on analog during a storm (as so many won't buy at $50 digital convertor for a $20 black and white tv)

But yeah take care everyone, we are currently out of town also so that's why I can log on
