WJBR sold to VCY???

I have to admit... I was a bit underwhelmed with the sign off. It's not just the fact they waited until their last day to share the news to their listeners. The station has been part of the community for 66 years. I don't know. I could be wrong,

Theres some tropo going on now and its ****ing my recording up. But i heard the Ben FM HD-2 slogan already. Most of the music is depressing.

Oof... the playlist as of 11:50 p.m., "Separate Ways", "Bye Bye Bye", "See You Again" and now "End of the Road". Dang. This might be it. Stay tuned, folks.

Signals cleaning up for me here in the coal regions!! Hoping it hangs in for another 10 minutes. Usually it comes in decent… there would be tropo right now… figures.

There's no way that entire 11pm hour was a coincidence. It was (arguably) all flip songs! They clearly weren't told what time the plug was being pulled, but it certainly seems that whoever put the log together figured midnight was a pretty likely time.

Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) - Kelly Clarkson
Time of Your Life (Good Riddance) - Green Day
Photograph - Nickelback
Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) - Journey
Bye Bye Bye - NSYNC
See You Again - Charlie Puth
End Of the Road - Boyz II Men
Before You Go - Lewis Capaldi
Don't You (Forget About Me) - Simple Minds
Closing Time - Semisonic

Oddly, I didn't hear WBEN-HD at the 8:00 TOH. It was pretty prominent all day yesterday. I suppose it's possible I just missed it somehow, but the speaker is literally sitting right there.

WBEN-HD2 and WJBR-FM were running separate logs. Basically WBEN-HD2 sounded like they already launched the “new” JBR from whatever computer feeds it, while 99.5 was still running automation to fill from the Delaware studios until the new owners take over.

The Air Staff at WJBR is ticked off this morning. WJBR has such a great following I would have moved 99.5 to 95.7 MIX 95.7 WJBR Philadelphia - Wilmington .
This has been mentioned elsewhere in this thread. Why would they blow up BEN-FM, which is doing exactly what it's supposed to be doing in the cluster--and replace it with a station to try (and fail) to compete with B101.1?

The pitch to management: "Hey remember Now 97.5? Let's do that again, only this time pretend we're aiming it at Wilmington from here in Bala Cynwyd. What could possibly go wrong?"

Management: "You're fired."

Tropo brought them into central NJ this morning strong enough to decode the HD signal and show the Mix 99.5 logo on my car radio. I also noticed the HD and analog audio are out of synch by about a half-second, and they're pitching up their music. HD2 is Spanish programming, displayed simply as "hd2 artist" and "hd2 title" [sic] on my radio.

It’s weird that the station is saying the previous call letters, “Wjbr & wjbr fm HD2. Live from the Comcast Business studios, powering possibilities. You’re listening Mix 99.5 WJBR”.
